The buzzword at the Auto Expo 2018 is electric vehicles and auto manufacturers have put on their best cars on display. Be it Tata Motors, Renault, or the latest entrant Kia Motors — almost all brands are showcasing their electric vehicles. While some of these cars are concept cars and we aren’t sure when they will actually be on Indian roads, there are a few cars which are expected to launch soon. Here’s a look at some of the electric vehicles on display:
Tata Tiago EV
Tata Motors is going all guns blazing and is bullish about its electric cars. The Tiago is the small car from its stable and an electric variant of the car is on display. The electric vehicle is scheduled to be officially launched soon. The Tiago EV takes 360 minutes to charge in normal mode whereas 90 minutes in fast charging mode. On one full charge it runs for about 130 kms and has top speed of 100 kmph.
Kia on it’s official India debut revealed its grand plans. Among other things, the Korean brand said that it plans to launch 16 electric vehicles by 2025. At the Auto Expo 2018, it has the Soul EV on display. The Soul EV is one of its most popular electric cars around the world. On a single charge, Soul EV runs for about 190 kms and boasts of top speed of 150kmph.
Tigor EV Another electric vehicle from Tata Motors is its sedan the Tigor. Like the Tiago, the Tigor is expected to hit the Indian roads in 2018. The Tigor EV takes 90 minutes to charge on fast mode and four times more on normal mode. It can run up to 130kms on a single charge.
Hyundai Ioniq Hyundai hasn’t officially announced its electric vehicle plans for India but the Ioniq Hybrid is the one it might launch. The Ioniq produces 43hp and 170nm of torque. It has a top speed of 185 kmph.
